Types of Ehlers-Danlos

There are currently 13 subtypes of Ehlers-Danlos that have been discovered as of 2020. These types are based on the 2017 International Diagnostic Criteria. Most of these types are quite rare while other types like Hypermobile EDS (hEDS) is being seen at a more frequent rate. Each type has its own distinct clinical criteria and most have their own genetic basis that can be screened for. While each type is distinct, there is some cross-over of clinical symptoms commonly seen between the different subtypes.
